Rear End Last Update: May 18, 2009 11:21 PM

The rear uses a Ford 8.8 diff with Boss Frog's custom Stage 2 axles. The current gear in David's diff is 3.73 with a clutch type limited slip.

Below are the new hubs and wheel bearings installed in th rear uprights. The kit includes these parts and the hubs are needed to let the Ford 8.8 CV's fit.

The set of holes on the back diff support were not round, more of an oval shape. It appears a majority of the kit parts are cut out with a water jet (or laser/plasma) at a high speed vs high quality cut. For the most part, this is fine but I have personally found that holes do not end up being true on these machines even at their slower settings. I had to drill out these holes to get the bolts to go through.

Below is the CV clearance pictures on the 99 10AE miata with Bilsteins. Suspension is a little lower (less compressed) than ride height. It does not appear the CV cup will hit the shock but I cannot confirm this yet, it is close. Since the car was still taken apart, there was not enough weight to allow me to jack up the corner further.
